The Hungarian Parliament has approved a package of constitutional reforms that provides for the resignation of President Tamás Sulyok.

It was stated that the amendments to the fundamental law, submitted by Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar three weeks ago, were approved today with 139 votes in favor, while six people voted against the document.
In addition, the faction of former Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s Fidesz party and the Christian Democratic People’s Party boycotted the meeting and the vote, while Gergely Gulyás, the head of the Fidesz faction, resigned in protest.
Now, the President of Hungary has five days to sign the resignation letter or send the matter to the Constitutional Court.
After winning the parliamentary elections, P. Magyar has repeatedly called for the President to resign.
