The criminal case against a person accused of organizing a premeditated murder in Baku 13 years ago has been sent to court.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the Press Service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
It was stated that on May 2, 2013, Shilder Vusal Adolf was intentionally killed in the Narimanov district of Baku.
As a result of the preliminary investigation conducted by the prosecutor’s office regarding the incident, Isgandarov Elman Seyidaga oglu was charged under Articles 120.2.1, 120.2.5 (premeditated murder committed by a group of people by prior conspiracy for mercenary purposes) and 228.4 (illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, and carrying of firearms) of the Criminal Code, and Talibov Seymur Teymur oglu was charged under Articles 120.2.1 and 120.2.5 of the same Code, and the criminal case was sent to the relevant court for consideration.
By the relevant court verdicts, Elman Isgandarov was sentenced to 15 years and Seymur Talibov to 12 years of imprisonment for the aforementioned crimes.
During the continuation of the preliminary investigation into the criminal case at the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan and the examination of the evidence obtained, reasonable suspicions were established that Alizada Khayal Mazahir oglu organized and directed the commission of the said crime. In this regard, a decision was made to charge him as an accused person, and criminal prosecution continued.
Since Khayal Alizada was outside the borders of Azerbaijan, it was not possible to announce the charges to him, and an international search was declared against him as he was hiding from the investigation.
As a result of the search measures, it was determined that Khayal Alizada was in the United Arab Emirates.
Over the past period, relevant measures were taken by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan regarding the extradition of Khayal Alizada. Based on the motion of the Prosecutor General’s Office and as a result of the request sent by the Ministry of Justice, he was arrested by the competent authorities of the United Arab Emirates on January 11, 2026, and subsequently extradited to Azerbaijan.
The preliminary investigation of the criminal case was continued, and based on the collected credible evidence, Khayal Alizada was charged under Article 32.3, 120.2.5 (organizing a premeditated murder for mercenary purposes) of the Criminal Code, and a preventive measure of arrest was chosen against him by the court’s decision based on the motion of the investigative body and the submission of the prosecutor exercising procedural supervision over the preliminary investigation.
The preliminary investigation has been completed, and the indictment for the criminal case has been approved by the prosecutor exercising procedural supervision over the preliminary investigation and sent to the Baku Court of Grave Crimes for consideration.
