A delegation led by Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC (ADY), which is one of the AZCON Holding companies, held bilateral meetings with the leadership of Russian Railways (RJD) and trilateral meetings with the participation of the heads of the Russian and Iranian railway administrations during a business visit to the Russian Federation.
elchi reports, citing “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC, that the parties discussed the current state and expansion of mutual cooperation, the development of the North-South International Transport Corridor, and the increase of route efficiency and freight transportation.
The parties also reviewed cooperation opportunities for accelerating digitalization processes along the corridor and implementing modern digital solutions.
In the end, a protocol was signed based on the results of the trilateral meeting.
During the meeting with the leadership of the Russian railway administration, issues of human capital development were also discussed, and an exchange of views took place on strengthening personnel potential between ADY and RJD.
Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was also held with cargo shippers in Russia. At the meeting, information was provided about the safe and sustainable services offered by ADY for transportation via the East-West and North-South corridors. The expanding capabilities and potential for cargo handling of the Astara Terminal, located on the North-South route, were presented.
At the same time, the capabilities of the “Cargo Tracking” digital platform, which ensures operational management and transparency of freight transportation, as well as other digital solutions of ADY, were brought to the attention of cargo owners.
The parties noted that joint initiatives will contribute significantly to the development of the North-South International Transport Route.
