The construction of the Asgaran–Khojaly–Khankendi highway, which will ensure that those traveling to the cities of Khankendi, Shusha, and Lachin reach their destinations in a shorter, more comfortable, and safer manner, is successfully continuing.
According to the information provided to elchi by the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads, the 14.1-kilometer-long Asgaran–Khojaly–Khankendi highway, being built within the framework of road infrastructure projects implemented in the liberated territories, is being constructed in accordance with the first technical category. The width of the roadbed varies up to 26.5 meters depending on the terrain.
Earthworks for the project have been fully completed, and a new roadbed has been constructed. Currently, the construction of the road base and asphalt-concrete pavement layers is ongoing.
At the same time, the construction of 3 bridges, 9 rectangular and 38 circular culverts, 23 emergency crossings, as well as the installation of 14 bus stops along the road have already been completed.
Currently, the overall completion rate of the project is 86%.
The commissioning of the Asgaran–Khojaly–Khankendi highway will make a significant contribution to further improving transport links in the region, increasing the efficiency of freight and passenger transportation, and developing agricultural and tourism potential.
