Weather conditions hindered stargazing

The Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory named after Nasreddin Tusi is one of Azerbaijan’s scientifically and touristically significant locations. This place, which offers the opportunity to observe celestial bodies, gain information about astronomy, and get acquainted with the observatory’s activities, attracts the interest of local and foreign tourists every year.

However, this year, a decrease in the number of visits to the observatory has been observed compared to previous years.

The press service of the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory stated that one of the main reasons for the decrease in the number of visitors is related to weather conditions.

It was noted that observing celestial bodies becomes difficult in rainy and cloudy weather. This particularly affects the interest of visitors who want to observe stars through a telescope.

The attractiveness of the observatory for astronomy enthusiasts and tourists is related not only to scientific information but also to the opportunities for direct observation of celestial bodies. Therefore, unfavorable weather conditions can affect the impression of excursions and the choices of visitors.

The Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory is important as a place where scientific research is conducted and where astronomy is introduced to the general public. Excursions organized here provide visitors with the opportunity to obtain information about the observatory’s activities, astronomical observations, and the universe.

It should be noted that it is possible to visit the observatory during both daytime and nighttime. However, since the observation of celestial bodies depends on weather conditions, it is important to consider the meteorological situation when planning a visit.(modern.az)
