The State Agency for Regulation of Nuclear and Radiological Activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations continues awareness-raising activities in the field of nuclear and radiation safety within its powers.

Within this framework, the Agency and the Ministry’s Northern Regional Center jointly held an event.
Representatives of the executive authorities of the regions covered by the Center, heads of enterprises and organizations operating with ionizing radiation, as well as representatives of the local bodies of the Ministry of Emergency Situations participated in the event.
Ruhid Hajiyev, Deputy Head of the Northern Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, who opened the event with a welcoming speech, spoke about the importance of awareness-raising activities, emphasizing the safe use of sources of ionizing radiation, compliance with radiation safety requirements, and the importance of increasing the awareness of individuals working in this field. The Deputy Head of the Center also drew attention to the importance of strengthening cooperation and mutual information exchange between relevant bodies at the regional level.
Akbar Guliyev, Deputy Head of the State Agency for Regulation of Nuclear and Radiological Activities, provided information about the Agency’s activities, upcoming tasks, and events carried out jointly with regional centers.
The event discussed nuclear and radiological activities, control mechanisms, orphan radioactive sources, coordination of activities of institutions in their detection, nuclear and radiological emergency situations, as well as management mechanisms in such situations.
During the event, presentations were made by the Agency’s employees on relevant topics, video clips were shown, and participants’ questions were answered in detail.
