Within the framework of the 19th session of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Committee on Innovation, Competitiveness and Public-Private Partnerships (CICPPP) held in Geneva, Azerbaijan has gained the right to be represented in the leadership of the Committee Bureau for 2026–2028. Being represented in the leadership of the Committee Bureau enables our country to participate in the process of developing international standards in the field of public-private partnerships. At the same time, it will contribute to the expansion of our country’s cooperation with international expert networks, the application of advanced methodologies and successful practices in our country, as well as the improvement of the national institutional and legal framework for public-private partnerships in accordance with international standards. Furthermore, it creates opportunities for promoting Azerbaijan’s activities in the field of public-private partnerships on an international platform, which stimulates the realization of new projects with foreign investors and development partners.

It should be noted that the UN Economic Commission for Europe is one of the influential regional organizations that plays an important role in shaping international standards and recommendations in areas such as economic cooperation, trade, transport, energy, environment, innovation, and public-private partnerships.

The Committee on Innovation, Competitiveness and Public-Private Partnerships operates within the framework of the UNECE Economic Cooperation and Integration sub-program and serves to develop international cooperation in the areas of public-private partnerships, innovation policy, competitiveness, and sustainable economic development. The body is considered one of the main platforms leading the preparation of international standards, model laws, and methodological documents on public-private partnerships.
