As part of Pakistan’s efforts to support the cessation of war in the Middle East, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will pay official visits to Iran and Turkey from July 3 to 6.
elchi reports that the “Dawn” publication informed about this, citing sources in the Pakistani Prime Minister’s office.
According to the information, during the visit, Sharif will meet with the leadership of Iran and Turkey and will call on Tehran and Washington to adhere to the terms of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding within the framework of the peace process.
Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in his meeting with Shehbaz Sharif, called on regional countries to join efforts to create a new security architecture. “The unity of Islamic states is the most effective way to combat existing challenges,” he noted.
The fragile truce between the US and Iran was shaken on June 27 after the parties began exchanging reciprocal strikes in the Persian Gulf. The US operation was directed against Iran’s communications and air defense facilities, drone warehouses, and mining equipment. This was caused by an attack on an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.
