The US and Iran have agreed to de-escalate tensions following attacks

It is reported that the US and Iran have agreed to cease military activities following a series of attacks that have taken place over the last few days.
“Elchi” reports that this decision was made after a series of attacks in and around the Strait of Hormuz, where both countries accused each other of violating the ceasefire.
A US official confirmed that ships will be able to move freely in the waterway again and that negotiations aimed at ending the war will continue.
No official statement has been issued by Iran regarding the cessation of attacks.
The 14-point memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries on June 17 provided for an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts.
Under this agreement, Iran agreed to make efforts within 60 days to ensure the safe passage of merchant ships. However, an attack on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz and US retaliatory airstrikes over the weekend put the ceasefire at risk. Iran responded to these attacks by targeting US bases in Kuwait and Bahrain.
The Strait of Hormuz is vital for global oil and gas transportation. While peace efforts in the region continue, the framework agreement signed between Israel and Lebanon with US mediation has drawn criticism from Hezbollah.
Hezbollah leadership rejected the agreement, accusing the Beirut government of undermining Lebanon’s sovereignty.
Two days after the agreement, on Sunday, the Israeli army announced that it had struck a Hezbollah tunnel in southern Lebanon.
The Tehran government emphasizes that for a more comprehensive ceasefire agreement to be permanent, the fighting in Lebanon must stop completely.
