Moscow and Baku have resolved all issues related to the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) aircraft near Aktau in December 2024.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.
“As you know, we have resolved all issues regarding the consequences of the Azerbaijani plane crash. But as you understand, these matters concern specific people who have experienced a terrible tragedy and suffered irreparable loss. Therefore, frankly, I would not like to talk about this in detail,” Galuzin said.
It should be recalled that on December 25, 2024, an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) Embraer 190 aircraft, operating flight J2-8243 on the Baku-Grozny route, crashed 3 kilometers from the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan.
There were 67 people on board the aircraft. Of them, 42 were citizens of Azerbaijan, 16 of Russia, 6 of Kazakhstan, and 3 of Kyrgyzstan. As a result of the plane crash, 38 people lost their lives.
According to preliminary investigation materials, the aircraft was shot down by a Russian-made “Pantsir-S” air defense system while approaching Grozny.
