5 people in contact with Ebola patient quarantined in France

French Health Minister Stéphanie Rist announced that five people suspected of having been in contact with the first Ebola virus case in the country have been quarantined as a precautionary measure.
“Elchi” reports that Minister Rist made statements regarding the Ebola virus in the country while appearing on the France 2 channel.
Recalling that an Ebola virus infection was detected yesterday in a doctor returning from a humanitarian aid mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Rist stated that the individual in question was an experienced doctor.
Rist noted that the doctor is in the early stages of the disease and did not feel any symptoms when boarding the plane, therefore the virus was not contagious.
Rist stated that the doctor, who complained of a headache during the flight, informed the relevant authorities, and as a result, the doctor was met upon landing and taken to a hospital where he is being kept in quarantine for 21 days. Rist stated that they investigated those who were close to the doctor on the plane and that five people suspected of having been in contact with the doctor were identified and quarantined as a precautionary measure. The French Ministry of Health announced yesterday that a doctor returning from the Democratic Republic of Congo had contracted the Ebola virus.
The statement notes that this is the first time the Ebola virus has been detected on French soil, and it is reported that Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu is closely monitoring the situation.
French government spokesperson Maud Bregeon stated yesterday that the Ebola epidemic is under control.
