From June 15 to 19, the next stage of the experience exchange program was held in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, within the framework of trilateral cooperation between the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media (REM) of the Republic of Serbia, and the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) of the Republic of Turkey.

“Elchi” reports that the Audiovisual Council provided this information to APA.

It was stated that the main purpose of the organized experience exchange program was to develop trilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Serbia in the field of audiovisual media, and to exchange experience and opinions on issues such as licensing of broadcasting activities, discussion of new challenges arising in the field of audiovisual media against the background of the development of global video sharing platforms, including social media, and the promotion of digital media services. The Audiovisual Council was represented at the 5-day meeting by Hashim Alimammad-zada, advisor to the chairman, and Torahanim Zeynalli, leading consultant of the Law and International Cooperation Department of the Council’s office.

Within the framework of the experience exchange program, information and experience were exchanged regarding the activities of regulatory bodies in Azerbaijan, Serbia, and Turkey, media legislation, the current state of audiovisual media, licensing, monitoring, and modern challenges in the implementation of control functions. Visits were organized to the Public Broadcasting Service of Vojvodina, which is Serbia’s regional public broadcaster, the Avala Tower used for television and radio broadcasting, and the “Broadcasting Technologies and Communications” Limited Liability Company, which is an infrastructure operator, and extensive information was obtained about the current state of the broadcasting sector in Serbia.

Sessions and discussions held within the framework of the program were significant in terms of getting acquainted with modern international approaches in the field of media regulation, learning best practices, and following new mechanisms and global challenges applied in the digital media environment. They played an important role in exchanging views and utilizing mutual experience on topics such as media literacy, combating hate speech in audiovisual media, and protecting children’s rights.

It was noted that an agreement was reached for the next, 4th stage of the experience exchange program to be held in Turkey in 2027, organized by RTÜK.
