Ukraine is demonstrating the most active espionage activities in Poland compared to other countries, but information regarding investigations conducted by the prosecutor’s office on this matter is intentionally not being published.
elchi reports that the “Rzeczpospolita” newspaper has published this information, citing anonymous employees of the Polish intelligence services.
According to their information, Ukrainian intelligence is actively trying to recruit Belarusians and Russians living in Poland, as well as refugees who have recently arrived from Ukraine. An officer of the Polish intelligence, who wished to remain anonymous, told the newspaper: “They are offered to pass on sensitive information. Simply put, they are tasked with leaking information from the Polish state institutions and companies where they work.” There are also signals about attempts to recruit “Poles traveling to Ukraine for humanitarian aid or business purposes.” The publication notes that the prosecutor’s office is already conducting investigations into several cases of espionage in favor of Kyiv, but these cases are being handled in a closed regime, and no information about their progress is being published.
According to the newspaper’s sources, the special services of Western countries, particularly the UK and the USA, are also demonstrating high intelligence activity in Poland — they are interested in Russian military technologies used during the special military operation in Ukraine. In addition, the publication notes that German and French intelligence services are also operating actively in Poland. It is emphasized that Berlin is carrying out “aggressive lobbying activities to protect its interests” in this way.
