Uzbekistan and Great Britain to Expand Economic Cooperation

On October 9, the second meeting of the Uzbekistan-Great Britain Joint Economic Committee was held in Tashkent.

elchi reports that the co-chairs of the meeting were the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, and the Minister of State for Trade of Great Britain, Anne-Marie Trevelyan.

One of the main topics was trade and economic relations between the two countries. In January-August 2026, bilateral trade turnover increased by 12.6% to nearly $250 million.

The meeting participants reviewed opportunities to expand access of Uzbek goods to the British market.

The parties paid special attention to the implementation of 46 projects and attracting financing with the participation of the “UK Export Finance” organization.

Based on the results of the meeting, the parties signed the protocol of the second meeting of the committee.

The document confirms the agreements reached in the areas of trade, investment, industry, digital technologies, finance, and healthcare.
