“Deepening our cooperation with Central Asia and neighboring countries is of particular importance.”
elchi reports that Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said this to journalists in Tajikistan.
He stated that Georgia connects seven countries to the Black Sea and the Western space, and it is important to maximize this potential from a trade and economic perspective:
“Therefore, it is also important to deepen our cooperation with Tajikistan. We recently visited Kyrgyzstan, we will soon go to Kazakhstan, and in July, the presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan will visit Georgia. There is a very good dynamic in our relations, and all of this will contribute to the development of our transit function.”
Kobakhidze noted that large investments are being made to strengthen communications and transit functions:
“We also attach great importance to the development of our relations with neighboring countries. We have excellent relations with Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey, and we are also maximizing the development of our relations with Central Asian countries. Based on these processes, Georgia will advance further in terms of utilizing its economic potential. This is one of our main priorities.”
