Global climate change, the limitation of water resources, and the intensification of competition in international markets necessitate more agile and far-sighted steps.
This was stated by Ilham Bayramov, Deputy Chairman of the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan (ADSEA), at a regional meeting in Shamkir regarding the discussion of the “State Program for the Development of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Production and Processing in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030” for the Gazakh-Tovuz economic region.
He noted that the State Program envisages accelerating the transition of agriculture from traditional extensive development to intensive development, and ensuring the production of competitive and export-oriented products: “It is known that the successful implementation of the State Program involves the mobilization of resources from both the public and private sectors. In this regard, the Shamkir District Executive Authority plans to further intensify work with entrepreneurs, support project-based initiatives, and strengthen activities to ensure faster coordination between entrepreneurs and government agencies.
I would also like to note that there are ample opportunities in the Gazakh-Tovuz economic region for the implementation of a number of measures envisaged in the State Program.
Taking this opportunity, I call on farmers and entrepreneurs operating in the agricultural sector to familiarize themselves closely with the adopted State Program and to learn about and benefit from the envisaged state support mechanisms. On behalf of the Shamkir District Executive Authority, I reiterate that we are ready to support initiatives put forward for the development of agriculture and entrepreneurship in the district in general, and to assist in the effective organization of coordination with relevant government agencies.”
