Canadian Minister of National Defence David McGuinty has stated that it is time to talk about ending the conflict in Ukraine.
elchi reports that he told journalists this in Brussels ahead of a meeting of NATO defense ministers.
“It is time to start talking about ending this war. Too many people are dying,” he said.
However, the minister emphasized that Canada will continue to provide the necessary military aid to Kyiv. McGuinty avoided commenting on the strikes carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine against Russia.
In May, Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand stated that Ottawa had already spent 25.5 billion Canadian dollars (18.5 billion US dollars) on military, financial, and humanitarian support for Kyiv, becoming “one of Ukraine’s largest donors in the world.” She promised that aid to Kyiv would continue in the future.
