Nearly 12 kilograms of narcotic substances have been removed from illegal circulation in the Nizami district of Baku.
This was reported to elchi by the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the information, an operation against the illegal drug trade was carried out by officers of the 24th Police Station of the Nizami District Police Department. During the operation, 23-year-old Vusal Nasirov, suspected of acting as a drug courier in the capital, and his accomplice, a minor identified as A.Abilzada, were detained.
From the vehicle they were using as passengers, 9 kilograms and 915 grams of marijuana, as well as a total of 2 kilograms of heroin and methamphetamine, were discovered and seized. In their statements, the detainees admitted that they planned to deliver the drugs to various addresses in the capital for the purpose of illegal distribution.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident.
Investigations are ongoing.
