The Ministry of Emergency Situations has appealed to drivers of motor vehicles regarding the “Last Bell”.
“Elchi” reports that the appeal states:
“Due to the holding of “Last Bell” and “Graduation Day” events in educational institutions and venues where mass events are held, an increase in traffic intensity and the likelihood of irregular parking on roads is expected. In such a situation, it should be taken into account that failure to give way to special-purpose vehicles, including fire and rescue vehicles rushing to the scene, as well as irregular parking, hinders the timely arrival of these vehicles at the scene, which is necessary for the operational elimination of the consequences of fires, accidents, and other incidents, and for minimizing possible damage.
Also, parking vehicles at the entrances and courtyards of buildings, as well as on the carriageway of roads, on roads leading to fire water supply systems and in their immediate vicinity, as well as disorder and chaos in parking areas, hinder the operational movement of equipment and its deployment into a combat-ready state during an emergency, and complicate, and in some cases make impossible, the extraction of water from water reservoirs and hydrants during fire extinguishing.
Taking into account the above, the Ministry of Emergency Situations appeals to drivers of motor vehicles and calls on them to comply with the relevant rules.
Thus, drivers of motor vehicles must immediately give way to operational vehicles, such as fire and rescue vehicles, on the roads, and vehicles should only be parked in designated areas, maintaining a safe distance from each other, and ensuring free passage for other vehicles.
We remind you that drivers who do not give way to fire and rescue vehicles on roads not only bear legal responsibility in the manner prescribed by law, but also bear moral responsibility by causing serious difficulties in timely reaching the scene of a fire, accident, or other emergency to prevent the incident, and most importantly, in the work of saving human lives in danger.”
