Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to our country, Berlian Helmy.
elchi reports that during the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the development of relations between our countries, and it was emphasized that there are opportunities to further strengthen cooperation in political, economic, investment, and other fields.
During the conversation, it was noted that there is positive cooperation and mutual support between our countries in important international organizations such as the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement. Speaker Sahiba Gafarova stated that Indonesia actively participates in the work of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, which was established on the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
An exchange of views also took place regarding the further development of relations between our parliaments. In this context, it was stated that the activities of friendship groups in the parliaments of both countries, as well as mutual visits and close contacts of deputies, serve to further expand our relations.
Ambassador Berlian Helmy also noted the role of parliaments in further expanding relations between our countries and said that during his tenure, he would strive to contribute to the development of cooperation between legislative bodies, as in other areas.
An exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest also took place during the meeting.
