The event was attended by local political and public figures, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of science and culture, heads and staff of local media, local and foreign students, representatives of international organizations, and diaspora activists.

Opening the presentation ceremony, organized with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Moldova, Ambassador Ulvi Bakhshaliyev spoke about the significance of publishing this book in the Romanian language—the state language for Moldovan society. The Ambassador noted that readers would be very interested in the information about Heydar Aliyev contained in this book. He spoke about how the meaningful and honorable life path of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev forms an inseparable unity with the recent history of our people.

In his speech, Ambassador Ulvi Bakhshaliyev discussed the life path, political activity, philosophy of Azerbaijanism, and ideology of Heydar Aliyev, the founder and architect of modern independent Azerbaijan, emphasizing that he went down in history as a unique statesman and politician for his services to the development of our country.

He spoke about how one of the most important indicators of the Heydar Aliyev phenomenon is the strengthening of statehood aspirations and feelings based on fundamental principles such as the rise of the ideology of Azerbaijanism and national spirit, the development of national self-awareness, and the restoration of the people’s historical memory, turning them into a real political factor. Ambassador Ulvi Bakhshaliyev expressed his gratitude to the author, Emil Nasirli, for creating the book “100 Moments of Heydar Aliyev’s Life,” stating that this book would contribute to a broader study of the great personality’s legacy.

Petru Lucinschi, a Moldovan political and state figure and the 2nd President of the Republic of Moldova, who spoke at the event, stated that Heydar Aliyev left a deep mark on the history of his people, and it was thanks to his wisdom and knowledge that Azerbaijan became a leader in the region and a reliable partner participating in important international projects. Petru Lucinschi noted that Heydar Aliyev is the founder and architect of Azerbaijan-Moldova relations. He also recalled his visit to Baku as President of Moldova in the 90s, his sincere meeting with Heydar Aliyev, and the warm relationship that developed between them. In the end, Petru Lucinschi congratulated the writer-publicist Emil Nasirli for creating such a magnificent book and wished him new creative successes.

Then, the author of the book “100 Moments of Heydar Aliyev’s Life,” editor-in-chief of the “Azerbaijanim” international magazine and academician of the International Academy of Sciences, Emil Nasirli, expressed his gratitude to the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Moldova, led by Ambassador Ulvi Bakhshaliyev, for their special support in holding the event in Chisinau, and to Vugar Novruzov, president of the “Azmol Company,” doctor of law, and philanthropist, who provided financial support for the translation and publication of the book in Romanian.

Writer-publicist E. Nasirli noted that it is very difficult to find another personality who loved his people, their history, culture, and language as much as Heydar Aliyev. Touching upon the moments of Heydar Aliyev’s successful foreign policy, E. Nasirli emphasized that he attracted attention by establishing and elevating Azerbaijan’s relations with influential international and regional organizations to a higher level. Heydar Aliyev’s role in becoming a member of international organizations, working effectively with them, and conveying Azerbaijan’s problems and truths to the world is undeniable. Emil Nasirli pointed out that with the return of the great personality Heydar Aliyev to power in 1993 at the call of the people, our country was saved from civil war, decline, and the threat of destruction, and the stable and prosperous future of our state was ensured. Connecting the existence and development of Azerbaijan as an independent state to the name of the great personality Heydar Aliyev, Emil Nasirli stated that Heydar Aliyev’s great labor, exceptional services, and far-sighted strategy lie at the foundation of comprehensive progress, preservation of socio-political stability, and economic development in our country. In addition, Emil Nasirli emphasized that as a result of President Ilham Aliyev’s successful domestic and foreign policy, Azerbaijan is a leading state in the region today and one of the important partners ensuring Europe’s energy security. He stated that after our powerful army, under the leadership of the President and Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, restored our country’s territorial integrity as a result of the 44-day Patriotic War, large-scale restoration and construction work is being carried out by our state in the liberated lands. Later, Emil Nasirli brought to the attention of the event participants that friendly Moldova is among the countries supporting Azerbaijan’s peace agenda, that cooperation and partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Moldova are successfully developing at the highest level in all fields, and that the implementation of numerous mutual visits is a clear indicator of this.

Emil Nasirli also noted that the chapters of the book include decisions, decrees, and programs adopted during the years 1969-2003, when the National Leader led Azerbaijan, regarding the development of the republic’s scientific material-technical base and human potential, structural improvement, expansion and qualitative improvement of scientific research, and the clarification and improvement of research topics. The book also gives extensive space to the speeches made by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev at various meetings and forums regarding the state and prospects of Azerbaijani science at that time, the application of scientific results in production, and other issues, as well as the Great Leader’s visits to foreign countries and high-level meetings. Emil Nasirli also noted that the book “Heydar Aliyev. 100 Moments of His Life,” which he authored, is available in English, Russian, and Romanian, and is currently being translated into Hebrew, and that presentation ceremonies for the book have been held in Azerbaijan, as well as in Turkey, the USA, Canada, Switzerland, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, the Czech Republic, Belarus, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and other countries.

Vugar Novruzov, president of the “Azmol Company,” doctor of law, philanthropist, and patron who provided financial support for the translation and printing of the book “100 Moments of Heydar Aliyev’s Life,” spoke at the presentation ceremony and stated that the personality of Heydar Aliyev and his activities are not only related to the ethno-political geography of Azerbaijan, and the Great Leader’s activities as a statesman are not limited to the ethno-political geography of Azerbaijan. He is a personality who played a role in the history of peoples from the Soviet era to Eastern Europe and even African countries, a personality who was well-known to them and signed processes that would affect their lives. Vugar Novruzov also noted that the activities of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev are the national wealth and treasure of the Azerbaijani people, and many generations to come will benefit from this school and contribute to the sustainable development of Azerbaijan.

Monika Babuc, who served as Minister of Culture of Moldova from 2013 to 2019, Aurelia Grigoriu, who served as Ombudsman of Moldova from 2008 to 2015, and others spoke at the presentation ceremony.
