Achieving Turkic unity and transforming the Organization of Turkic States into a global power is one of the main goals of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy strategy. President Ilham Aliyev is working decisively towards the further organization of this body and its influence on the international arena as a unified power. It is no coincidence that Azerbaijan approaches the OTS primarily as an organization of brotherhood. A common language, common culture, common history, and religious-spiritual values bring Turkic states closer together. President Ilham Aliyev’s participation in the informal Summit of the Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States held in the city of Turkistan is a clear example of this.
Undoubtedly, the Summits are a unique platform for expanding cooperation among Turkic states within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States in political, economic, transport, energy, and humanitarian fields. President Ilham Aliyev was once again in the spotlight at this Summit with his substantive speech and gave important messages regarding the future development directions of the Turkic world.
These thoughts were expressed by Rashad Mahmudov, member of the Board of the New Azerbaijan Party and Member of the Milli Majlis.
He noted that the head of state’s speech was of special importance in terms of expanding cooperation and joint projects, as well as increasing the international prestige of the Organization of Turkic States.
Touching upon Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan relations, the head of state first noted that high-level mutual visits are an indicator of close strategic ties between the two countries, and the intensity of these visits in recent years, as well as the Joint Declaration, have raised relations to the level of alliance. Later, the President pointed out that the international prestige of the Organization of Turkic States is growing and cooperation is deepening. At the same time, he stated that transport and logistics projects, especially the Middle Corridor and the “Digital Silk Way,” further strengthen the strategic importance of the region. The President noted with confidence that the Turkic world must become an important power center of the 21st century and that Azerbaijan will continue to contribute to the development of the Organization of Turkic States.
As can be seen, our country is actively participating in the development and strengthening of the Organization of Turkic States, which is a single family. President Ilham Aliyev’s services and initiatives play an important role in this process. The consistent and principled policy implemented by the head of state in this direction serves to further deepen integration in the Turkic world.
In conclusion, the deputy emphasized that the groundbreaking ceremony of the Turkic Civilization Center by other presidents participating in the informal Summit of the Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States will be remembered as a pleasant event. As noted, the project will make a significant contribution to the preservation of the glorious history and rich heritage of the Turkic peoples, as well as its wide promotion. This initiative was welcomed with appreciation as a great service rendered by the leaders in the life of the Turkic peoples.
