Our compatriots celebrated the 103rd anniversary of Heydar Aliyev with a series of events

As they do every year, this year too, Azerbaijanis around the world commemorated the anniversary of the birth of the National Leader of our people and the founder of independent Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, with great respect and deep gratitude.

Our compatriots living in the USA, Germany, Denmark, Algeria, France, Georgia, Canada, Spain, Sweden, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Moldova, the Netherlands, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, and other countries held a series of events on the occasion of the Great Leader’s 103rd anniversary. Through sports competitions, memorial corners, open classes, concerts, and informative campaigns, they expressed their deep respect for the cherished memory of the genius personality Heydar Aliyev.

At the events held with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Diaspora Support Fund under its jurisdiction, the unparalleled services of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in strengthening Azerbaijani statehood, increasing the country’s international prestige, and defining the development strategy of modern Azerbaijan were discussed.

During the events, the exceptional role of the founder of the independent Azerbaijani state, Heydar Aliyev, in the development of our country, and his contributions to the preservation of Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage and the strengthening of solidarity in the Turkic world were discussed in detail. It was recalled that thanks to the National Leader’s foresight, stability was restored in Azerbaijan, state institutions were strengthened, and the foundation for our country’s future development was laid. At the same time, it was noted that as a result of his rich political experience and high management skills, Azerbaijan gained great prestige in the international arena. It was stated that the political legacy of the prominent statesman continues to shed light on Azerbaijan’s path of development today, and the statehood principles he established are being successfully continued.

For example, at the “President Cup” chess tournament organized in the US state of New York on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the birth of our National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the Great Leader’s unparalleled services in the development of chess in Azerbaijan were discussed. At the same time, the main purpose of the sports festival held in Barleben was the high importance Heydar Aliyev placed on children, youth, and family values. These approaches permeated the spirit of the events and were met with special appreciation.

In the artistic part of the events, selected pieces from the works of Azerbaijani and European composers performed by well-known musicians were listened to with great interest and admiration. Azerbaijani children growing up in different countries of the world expressed their deep love for the Motherland, Azerbaijan, and the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev through poems. Also, films describing the National Leader’s rich life path, the historical services he carried out for the sake of building and developing the independent Azerbaijani state, and the values he left as a legacy to future generations allowed participants to obtain comprehensive information about the Great Leader.

The events held with the active participation of our compatriots once again prove that the ideas of National Leader Heydar Aliyev are a symbol of unity for all Azerbaijanis of the world. As a result of his far-sighted policy and patriotism, the solid foundation of the Azerbaijani diaspora was formed.
