The Speaker of the Milli Majlis met with the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan

Within the framework of her working visit to the city of Bukhara, Uzbekistan, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva.

This was reported to “Elchi” by the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis.

During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the current level of development of relations between the friendly and brotherly countries, and the role of the heads of state of the two countries in deepening these ties was especially emphasized. The parties noted that thanks to the high political will of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, relations have expanded further, the strategic partnership has reached a new stage in terms of content, and our countries currently enjoy successful cooperation in many fields.

During the conversation, it was noted that the high-level relations between our countries and peoples are also being successfully continued at the parliamentary level. The cooperation of our parliaments, both in a bilateral format and within the framework of international parliamentary organizations, was highly appreciated. It was emphasized that mutual visits carried out at the level of heads of legislative bodies and deputies, as well as regular meetings, make an important contribution to further strengthening relations in this area.

At the meeting, it was also noted that the Second Asian Women’s Forum was organized at a high level in the friendly and brotherly country of Uzbekistan, and confidence was expressed that this event would contribute to the implementation of initiatives aimed at promoting the more active participation of women in political, economic, and public life on a broader platform.

During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on other issues of mutual interest.
