After announcing that he is “seriously” considering making Venezuela the 51st state of the USA, US President Donald Trump shared a picture showing Venezuela as the “51st state”.
“Elchi” reports that Trump shared a picture of the northern part of the South American continent on his social media account.
In the picture, Venezuela appeared covered with the US flag.
In his post, Trump used the phrase “51st state”.
51st state
In an interview with the US press on May 11, Trump stated that he is “seriously” considering making Venezuela the 51st state of the USA and added that “Venezuela loves Trump”.
Pointing to the “$40 trillion” oil reserves in Venezuela, Trump emphasized that these resources are very important for the USA.
Venezuela’s interim president Delcy Rodriguez responded to Trump’s statement yesterday with an emphasis on “independence”.
Rodriguez stated, “Such a thing is absolutely unacceptable. Because one of the most fundamental characteristics that define Venezuelans is our struggle for independence and our commitment to this struggle by both men and women. We will continue to defend the integrity, sovereignty, and independence of our country.”
