Armenia is not an ally of Russia in the Ukraine issue.
According to elchi, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this today at a briefing while answering a question regarding Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Yerevan and the criticisms voiced in connection with it.
“As for the Ukrainian President’s visit, I have made statements on this topic before. We have sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine, and I have said that we are not allies with Russia in the Ukraine issue,” Pashinyan said.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the Alma-Ata Declaration is of fundamental importance for Armenia, and Yerevan is building a peace process with Azerbaijan based on it: “You know how important and fundamental the Alma-Ata Declaration is for us, and we rely on this declaration and are building peace with Azerbaijan on this foundation. And this is our principled position.”
It should be noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Yerevan on May 4 to participate in the 8th summit of the European Political Community.(apa)
