Baku Metro CJSC will organize passenger transport services using tram transport in Baku.
“Elchi” reports that this issue is reflected in the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev on “Reorganization of Baku Metro Closed Joint-Stock Company and amendments to some decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with this, and the abolition of some orders.”
The decree establishes that the company is a commercial legal entity that ensures the provision of passenger transport services in the field of public transport (metro, bus, tram, taxi), the improvement of their quality and safety, the application of innovative and digital solutions for the organization of these services and payment of fares, as well as the design and construction of new transport infrastructure facilities in this area (metro, tram, bus stations (bus terminals), terminals and other facilities for road transport, as well as technical maintenance areas and stations for taxis and buses), the strengthening and modernization of the material and technical base, as well as the mutual integration, unified management, and coordination of services for various types of transport (metro, bus, tram, taxi).
