Trump considers a deal with Iran possible before his visit to China

US President Donald Trump has expressed optimism about reaching a possible deal with Iran, stating that it could be achieved before his visit to China next week.

“Elchi” reports that he stated this in an interview with “PBS News”.

He noted that the probability of reaching an agreement is high, but emphasized that it is not certain.

According to the President, as part of a possible deal, Iran must export its highly enriched uranium to the US and commit to not using its underground nuclear facilities for active operations.

Trump also noted that the agreement could be concluded before his China visit, which is planned for mid-May, but called this scenario “desirable, but not mandatory.”

The US leader stated that it is unlikely that special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will be sent to the negotiations, adding that the agreement can be reached directly, and if necessary, signed at a final meeting.

At the same time, he did not rule out the resumption of strikes against Iran if the agreement is violated.

According to CNN, Washington and Tehran are discussing the possibility of a moratorium on uranium enrichment in Iran for more than 10 years, as well as the removal of existing material stockpiles from the country. It is reported that the one-page plan under consideration includes declaring an end to military operations and initiating a 30-day negotiation period on key issues, including Iran’s nuclear program, the release of assets, and security in the Strait of Hormuz.

At the same time, Israel Defense Forces Chief of General Staff Eyal Zamir stated that Israeli military personnel are in a high state of readiness for a large-scale operation against Iran and have obtained a list of pre-prepared targets across the country.
