On May 6, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by the Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group, Muhammad Al-Jasser.
elchi reports that during the conversation, the head of state’s meetings with Muhammad Al-Jasser were recalled with satisfaction, and it was noted that his visits to our country contribute to the expansion of the partnership.
It was emphasized that fruitful cooperation has been established between Azerbaijan and the Islamic Development Bank for many years.
It was noted that the bank has implemented a number of projects in our country in various sectors of the economy, including energy, such as green energy, agriculture, water and irrigation systems, infrastructure, and social spheres. In this regard, it was highlighted that more than 1.2 billion US dollars have been allocated by the bank for the implementation of nearly 20 state and private projects.
During the meeting, issues related to the preparations for the bank’s Annual Meetings to be held in Baku this June were discussed.
The guest stated that he would get acquainted with the Alat Free Economic Zone and also visit Karabakh.
During the conversation, an exchange of views took place regarding the current state and prospects of cooperation between our country and the bank.
