The participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in the “European Political Community” summit signals the formation of a new atmosphere in relations between Baku and Yerevan.
elchi reports that this was stated by the President of the European Council (EU), Antonio Costa, while delivering a joint statement with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen following the Armenia-EU summit held in Yerevan.
According to him, a stable and prosperous South Caucasus is the fundamental basis for Armenia’s future:
“President Ilham Aliyev’s participation in yesterday’s ‘European Political Community’ summit is an indicator of the new atmosphere between your countries.”
According to A. Costa, the European Union will continue to support peace and normalization processes in the South Caucasus by cooperating with the countries of the region to build a sustainable future.
