As a result of complex operational-search and customs control measures carried out by the employees of the Astara Customs Department of the State Customs Committee, a particularly large amount of narcotic drug – hashish was discovered and removed from illegal circulation.
elchi reports, citing the committee, that a vehicle carrying a “watermelon” cargo at the “Astara” customs post was inspected using a stationary X-ray machine, and due to suspicious lines observed in the cargo, it was subjected to a thorough inspection.
During the inspection conducted with the use of a cynological service dog, 304 packages with a total net weight of 31 kilograms 500.907 grams of a particularly large amount of narcotic drug – hashish, which were hidden from customs control by covering them with the “watermelon” cargo, were discovered.
An investigation into the fact is underway.
