The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported a suspicious incident off the coast of Yemen on Friday and advised vessels in the area to exercise extreme caution.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated in the information posted on the agency’s official website.
According to the warning, the captain of a bulk carrier reported that a small black-hulled boat (skiff) with seven armed individuals on board approached them.
The incident occurred approximately 92 nautical miles southwest of the port of Al-Mukalla, Yemen.
UKMTO has called on all vessels transiting the area to remain highly vigilant.
