A new appointment has been made to the leadership of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the information provided by the CBA to “Elchi”, Sadiq Farhad oglu Akhundov has been appointed as Director General effective May 1.
With this, the number of CBA Directors General has reached 10.
It should be noted that Sadiq Akhundov began his career in 2009 at “Azerigazbank,” where he held various positions, including Head of the Software and Platform Management Department. From 2017 to 2019, he served as Head of the Database and Programming Department at “Amrahbank,” and from 2019 to 2024, he was the Director of the Information Technology Department at “ZiraatBank Azerbaijan.” Since 2024, he has been appointed as an advisor in the Chairman’s Office of the Central Bank. Prior to his new position, he served as the Director of the Information Technology Operations Department of the CBA.
