The Feast of Sacrifice is approaching. This year, rules in animal markets will be further tightened, and the sale of certain animals will not be permitted.
“Elchi” reports, citing milliaz, that regarding the subject, Yavar Mammadov, Director of the Identification and Traceability Center of the Food Safety Institute, stated that animal markets are considered high-risk areas where infectious diseases can spread most rapidly.
For this reason, animal markets, which had their operations suspended for some time, have now resumed activities in accordance with the “Veterinary-sanitary norms and rules for animal markets.”
According to Mammadov, animal identification is also the most reliable legal tool for preventing theft.
Currently, 972,000 animals across the country have been registered and identified, and all information, from their vaccination records to their owners, has been collected in a special database.
It was emphasized that every animal must be identified before being brought to the market. Otherwise, it will soon be impossible for such animals to be allowed into the sales area.
