The main trend in the Azerbaijani car market this month has been the continued increase in prices in some segments against the backdrop of overall price stability. The price hike was observed mainly in second-hand, well-maintained, and fuel-efficient cars.
The price increase that began at the beginning of the year has continued into the spring months. In particular, different price changes were recorded in the market based on the production years of the cars.
Among cars produced between 2005-2010, the models that saw the highest price increases were the Toyota Prius, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and Honda Civic. In this category, prices rose on average by 1,000 to 2,500 manats. The main reason was the increase in buyers looking for reliable cars at affordable prices.
A higher price increase was recorded for cars produced between 2011-2015. For models such as the Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, BMW 5 Series, and Chevrolet Cruze, the price increase ranged from 2,000 to 4,500 manats. Cars from these years were in higher demand in terms of both comfort and price.
For cars produced between 2016-2020, the increase was mainly observed in hybrid and low-mileage models. Models such as the Toyota Prius, Kia Cerato, Hyundai Elantra, and Honda Insight became 2,500 to 5,000 manats more expensive.
For new and relatively new cars produced between 2021-2025, the price increase was mostly related to import costs. The price difference for hybrid and electric cars rose from 3,000 to 7,000 manats.
Among the models that saw the most significant price increases in the market, the Toyota Prius, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, and Honda Civic stood out.
According to experts, the main reasons for the price hike are related to increased customs duties, a decrease in imports, rising costs of spare parts, and increased demand for cars ahead of the summer season.
It should be noted that in April 2026, the highest price increases were observed in mid-range, economy, and hybrid cars. (Milli.az)
