Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke by phone with his counterparts from India, Poland, and Kenya to discuss the situation in the Middle East.

“Elchi” reports that A. Araghchi announced this on his Telegram channel.

During a conversation with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Araghchi discussed recent developments regarding the ceasefire, bilateral relations, as well as regional and international processes.

In another phone call, the Iranian Foreign Minister informed his Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski about the situation in the Middle East and the negotiations with the US.

Kenyan Foreign Minister Musalia Mudavadi also exchanged views with his Iranian counterpart on the regional situation and discussed bilateral relations.

It should be recalled that on February 28, the US and Israel launched military operations against Iran, and airstrikes were carried out on a number of cities. On the same day, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed as a result of the strikes. In response, Iran launched missile attacks on Israeli territory and attacked US military bases in Persian Gulf countries.

Iran, the US, and their allies reached a ceasefire agreement on the night of April 8. Trump later extended the ceasefire indefinitely.

The parties attempted to hold negotiations in Pakistan to resolve the conflict, but the first round held on April 11-12 yielded no results.

To exert pressure on Tehran, the US has blockaded Iranian ports and passage through the Strait of Hormuz. In turn, Iran has announced a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz for ships heading to the Persian Gulf. The dynamically changing situation in the region has caused a global energy crisis.
