Al-Mayadeen: Iran has proposed a three-stage negotiation formula to the US through its allies.
elchi reports that the Al-Mayadeen social media platform stated on X that Iran has presented a three-stage negotiation formula to the US through intermediaries.
It is noted that if the American side accepts this formula, Tehran will conduct negotiations accordingly.
According to the proposal, the first stage of the negotiations should focus on ending the war and obtaining guarantees against new military operations against Iran and Lebanon.
If Washington accepts the first stage, the parties will have to move to the next stage. The article states that, in particular, Iran proposes to discuss how the Strait of Hormuz will be managed after the Iran-US conflict ends, in coordination with Oman, to “create a new legal system.”
Al-Mayadeen claims that the transition to the third stage regarding the discussion of the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program will not take place without reaching an agreement on the first and second stages. On April 25, Reuters, citing a Pakistani diplomatic source, reported that Iran refused to accept the US’s “maximalist demands” during peace talks held in Islamabad. The source stated that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi explained their “principled positions” to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other high-ranking officials, and subsequently left Islamabad with his delegation.
