Within the framework of intergovernmental consultations, Germany and Ukraine have signed several agreements in the defense sector, including those related to missile defense and the production of unmanned systems.
“Elchi” reports that the German Ministry of Defense has announced this information.
Berlin and Kyiv have agreed that Germany will finance the purchase of “several hundred Patriot (anti-aircraft missile system) missiles” for Ukraine from the “Raytheon” company. In addition, an agreement has been reached on the supply of launchers for new “IRIS-T” air defense systems. These will also be financed by the German side (the exact number is not specified).
Additionally, the two countries have agreed on the production of medium- and long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). To this end, a joint venture will be established for the supply of thousands of UAVs. Germany will also support Ukraine with several hundred million euros in the production of “kamikaze drones.”
Furthermore, Berlin and Kyiv intend to exchange information on combat operations with the aim of developing military technologies. Specifically, the application of various German weapons and digital systems in the conflict in Ukraine will be analyzed.
Germany’s Ministry of Defense recalled that the country has provided approximately 55 billion euros in military support to Ukraine to date. This year, 11.5 billion euros will be allocated for these purposes.
