Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) limits have been set for agricultural product manufacturing enterprises.
elchi reports that this is reflected in the amendments to the law “On Environmental Impact Assessment” approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
The limits have been set as follows:
– For livestock enterprises, the project’s holding capacity is 1000 head of cattle equivalent (5 small ruminants are equal to 1 head of cattle, and each head of other hoofed animals is equal to 1 head of cattle);
– For poultry farms, 40,000 chickens equivalent (1 ostrich is equal to 25 chickens, 1 turkey or goose is equal to 5 chickens, 8 quails are equal to 1 chicken, excluding those in the incubation stage);
– For fisheries (including aquaculture) farms, an annual production volume of 500 tons.
Agroparks will be subject to EIA when their indicators for the specified types of activities are equal to or exceed the established limits.
