President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, on October 14.

The guest recalled with satisfaction his previous visit to our country and his meeting with the head of state, and conveyed the greetings of the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, to President Ilham Aliyev.
The head of state expressed his gratitude for the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to Chairman Xi Jinping.
Wang Yi emphasized the importance of the Joint Declaration on the Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan and China adopted during President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to China, stating that China is a reliable and long-term partner of Azerbaijan.
The guest said that the development processes he witnessed in Baku made a deep impression on him, noted the successful and dynamic development of our country under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, and expressed that China, as a close friend of Azerbaijan, sincerely rejoices in all these achievements.
The guest noted that China consistently supports Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and specifically emphasized our country’s growing role in international and regional issues.
He conveyed congratulations on Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of AQEM and our country’s hosting of the organization’s Summit.
Expressing gratitude for the kind words, President Ilham Aliyev, in turn, noted China’s dynamic development and stated that Azerbaijan highly values this country’s representation of the interests of the Global South and its support for sustainable development.
The head of state emphasized that our country consistently supports the “One China” policy.
President Ilham Aliyev also noted the importance of the “Belt and Road” initiative and recalled that Azerbaijan was one of the first countries to support it.
Stating that the Middle Corridor is developing dynamically, the head of state said that there are broad opportunities for cooperation between Azerbaijan and China in this regard.
The guest emphasized that Azerbaijan is a state with an important position in the Middle Corridor.
President Ilham Aliyev said that our economic and trade relations are currently developing actively in line with the spirit of political relations. In this regard, the head of state noted the active participation of Chinese companies in various investment projects in Azerbaijan.
During the conversation, issues of cooperation in the field of renewable energy were touched upon, and it was emphasized that our countries cooperate in the fight against separatism, extremism, and radicalism.
