Celal Çiftçi, a columnist for the Turkish newspaper “Şanlıurfa Olay”, who was placed on the international wanted list by the Prosecutor General’s Office placed on the international wanted list, has apologized to the state and people of Azerbaijan.
“Elchi” reports that he announced this on his “X” social media account.
C. Çiftçi expressed his regret for his posts causing offense to the Azerbaijani people:
“I regret that my posts have caused offense and disappointment to the brotherly Azerbaijani people. I openly and sincerely apologize to the state of Azerbaijan and the people of Azerbaijan for my expressions exceeding my intentions. I respectfully request that my sincere apology be accepted.
When conveying my thoughts, I should have more carefully evaluated the consequences that the language I used could lead to, and expressed myself more clearly and cautiously.
I have never had and never could have had the intention to interfere in Azerbaijan’s internal affairs, incite the people against the state, create chaos in the country, or call for the forceful seizure of power or the forceful change of the constitutional order.
Azerbaijan is a brotherly state, and the Azerbaijani people are our brothers. I have full respect for the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and constitutional order of the Republic of Azerbaijan. I understand that decisions regarding Azerbaijan’s future belong to the Azerbaijani people and the country’s own constitutional institutions.”
