President Ilham Aliyev has congratulated the National Paralympic Committee on its 30th anniversary.
elchi reports that the congratulatory message states:
“I sincerely congratulate you on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the National Paralympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The establishment of the National Paralympic Committee in February 1996, at the initiative of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, laid the groundwork for the systematic development of the Paralympic movement in our country.
The promotion of sports and a healthy lifestyle in Azerbaijan is one of the priority directions of state policy. The strengthening of social protection for people with disabilities and the continuous development of sports infrastructure have created favorable conditions for the year-on-year increase in the achievements of our Paralympians. It is a matter of pride that our athletes have achieved numerous victories in the Paralympic Games, World and European Championships over the past years. These achievements are a shining example of the high professionalism, willpower, and determination of our athletes. Each medal they win not only brings joy to the Azerbaijani people but also proves once again that disability does not prevent a person from engaging in sports.
I am confident that the National Paralympic Committee will continue to make a significant contribution to the permanent development of this field in our country and to the raising of the State Flag in international sports arenas, guided by the core values of the Paralympic movement – perseverance, solidarity, equality, inclusivity, and mutual respect.
Once again, I congratulate the Paralympians and everyone involved in the development of this movement, and I wish you new victories!”
