EU Loses Faith in the US

European Commission spokesperson Anna-Kaisa Itkonen stated that if the US bans diesel exports, it will lose its status as a reliable supplier.

According to elchi, she said that the European Union (EU) categorically rejects Washington’s threats to limit the supply of this fuel to its market. She is confident that such steps will not benefit anyone.

Earlier, EU Energy Commissioner Dan Jørgensen stated that Brussels hopes the White House will back down from banning diesel exports. He is confident that such actions are not in anyone’s interest. Meanwhile, International Energy Agency Executive Director Fatih Birol noted that Europe is not one of the most vulnerable regions regarding diesel fuel, but one of the most vulnerable regions. Approximately 50 percent of this fuel comes from the US.
