A delegation led by Ali Fidan, Director General of Security of the Turkish Ministry of Interior, has arrived in our country to participate in the 9th working meeting on police cooperation between the Ministries of Interior of Azerbaijan and Turkey, which will be held in Baku.
According to the information provided to elchi by the press service of the Ministry of Interior, Ali Fidan and his accompanying delegation paid tribute to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev at the Alley of Honor. They also honored the memory of the prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and laid wreaths at her grave.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov, met with Ali Fidan and the delegation led by him.
Noting with satisfaction the high level of relations between the Ministries of Interior of Azerbaijan and Turkey, the Minister emphasized the importance of further expanding mutual activities and developing cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two brotherly countries. He expressed his confidence that the working meetings held within the framework of police cooperation would make a significant contribution to the exchange of experience and the enhancement of the efficiency of practical activities.
Head of the delegation Ali Fidan expressed his gratitude for the reception and the hospitality shown. Highly appreciating the effectiveness of the cooperation between the relevant agencies of the two countries, he noted the importance of joint efforts in combating global threats, including various types of crime.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to our country, Birol Akgün, attended the meeting.
