According to the State Border Service, in January-August 2026, 1,586.0 thousand foreigners and stateless persons arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan from 191 countries of the world, which is 7.8 percent less compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

Of the arrivals, 27.9 percent were citizens of the Russian Federation, 19.4 percent Turkey, 7.8 percent Iran, 4.8 percent Georgia, 4.6 percent Kazakhstan, 3.5 percent Israel, 3.4 percent Pakistan, 3.2 percent Uzbekistan, 2.6 percent each from China and India, 2.5 percent Saudi Arabia, 1.6 percent Ukraine, 1.3 percent Turkmenistan, 1.1 percent Germany, 1.0 percent Great Britain, and 12.7 percent were citizens of other countries and stateless persons. 66.9 percent of the arrivals were men, and 33.1 percent were women.
Compared to January-August 2025, in January-August 2026, the number of arrivals from European Union member countries increased by 6.6 percent to 77.8 thousand people, the number of arrivals from CIS countries increased by 3.1 percent to 619.5 thousand people, the number of arrivals from Gulf countries decreased by 33.3 percent to 192.0 thousand people, and the number of arrivals from other countries decreased by 8.2 percent to 696.7 thousand people.
73.1 percent of foreigners and stateless persons who arrived in our country used air transport, 25.5 percent used rail and road transport, and 1.4 percent used sea transport.
