“Azeristiliktechizat” OJSC has launched a project for the construction of new neighborhood boiler houses in Baku, aimed at reconstructing the heat supply infrastructure to meet modern requirements.
This was reported to elchi by the joint-stock company.
According to the information, based on the existing heat supply scheme of the capital, the heat supply for over 200 multi-apartment residential buildings, including nearly 20,000 apartments, 18 educational, 6 healthcare, and 65 other social facilities in the Yeni Ahmadli settlement of the Khatai district, is provided through thermal energy received from the Baku Thermal Power Plant (Baku TPP) based on a contract between “Azeristiliktechizat” and “Azerenerji” OJSC.
The thermal energy received from the Baku TPP is delivered to consumers via a main heating line to 15 currently operational heating stations and 1 booster pump station, which perform the function of distributing and regulating thermal energy, and from there through neighborhood heating lines.
Since “Azerenerji” intends to cease the operations of the Baku TPP, it was deemed appropriate to reconstruct the heat supply infrastructure fed by the plant and build neighborhood boiler houses that meet modern requirements. In this regard, based on a contract concluded between the State Agency for Control over Construction Safety of the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ “Azerdovlatlayiha” State Main Design Institute and the Ministry of Energy, the institute has prepared construction (reconstruction) projects for 16 facilities.
It was considered necessary to design and reconstruct the neighborhood heating lines, in addition to transforming the existing heat distribution stations and the booster pump station into modern-type boiler houses.
In accordance with the 2026 investment program, “Azeristiliktechizat” has started the modernization and reconstruction of two heating stations on Ganja Avenue in the Khatai district as part of the mentioned project.
Furthermore, as part of the project to modernize old-type boiler houses that have been in long-term operation, modernization work has begun on boiler house No. 129 in the Yasamal district. The total capacity of the reconstructed and modernized boiler houses will be 18 Gcal/h, which will allow for the provision of high-quality and sustainable heat supply to a total of 46 residential buildings, 3 kindergartens, 2 healthcare facilities, and over 20 other facilities.
Within the framework of the project to modernize old-type boiler houses in long-term operation, 5 boiler houses in 2024 and 7 boiler houses in 2025 were fully modernized and commissioned, providing heat to 106 residential buildings and 16 educational and healthcare institutions. The work is scheduled to be completed before the new heating season.
