The Pentagon intends to sign a contract with the defense corporation “Raytheon” for the maintenance of the “Patriot” anti-aircraft missile system and the supply of equipment for Ukraine.
“Elchi” reports that this is stated in a document on the US government procurement portal.
“The US Department of Defense Logistics Agency is seeking qualified suppliers to ensure the operational readiness of Ukraine’s ‘Patriot’ systems through the provision of test benches for base maintenance, site surveys, installation, and on-site personnel training,” the report states.
According to the document, the project is designed for several years: the site survey is planned for more than two years after the contract is signed, and the initial supply of equipment should begin another half a year later. The installation of the main stations should be completed only in the fifth year of work, so if the agreement is concluded in the current year, the base may not be operational until the end of 2030.
It is planned to award the order to the corporation “Raytheon” without a competition as the sole supplier
