The US has called on Ukraine and Russia to halt mutual strikes during the visit of Witkoff and Kushner

The US has appealed to Ukraine and Russia with a request to halt mutual strikes during the visits of the American President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner to Moscow and Kyiv.

“Elchi” reports that this was stated by “The New York Times” newspaper, citing sources.

The publication notes that Washington is demanding that Kyiv temporarily stop its drone attacks on Moscow and energy facilities during Witkoff and Kushner’s visit. Russia, in turn, is expected to refrain from striking targets in Kyiv during the delegation’s visit.

At the same time, the newspaper emphasized that it is currently unclear whether the US representatives plan to present new proposals for resolving the conflict to Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to the NYT, their task may be to reduce disagreements over territorial issues.
