Prime Minister of Lithuania called President Ilham Aliyev

On August 10, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Mindaugas Sinkevičius called President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

“Elchi” reports that during the telephone conversation, the positive dynamics observed in the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Lithuania in recent times were noted with satisfaction. In this regard, the visit of the former Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Inga Ruginienė to our country in April of this year and the discussions she held with President Ilham Aliyev were recalled.

The head of our state congratulated Mindaugas Sinkevičius on his election as Prime Minister.

Expressing his gratitude for the congratulations, Mindaugas Sinkevičius stated that as Prime Minister, he would keep the development of our bilateral relations in constant focus.

During the telephone conversation, issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Lithuania in the energy sector, particularly ensuring energy security and increasing trade turnover, were discussed.

The Prime Minister of Lithuania conveyed his congratulations to President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the Washington Peace Summit and the anniversary of the agreements reached there.

The head of state expressed his gratitude for the congratulations.

During the telephone conversation, Azerbaijan-European Union relations were discussed, and it was noted that the high-level contacts carried out in recent times have made a fundamental contribution to the development of cooperation. It was emphasized that Lithuania has always supported the development of Azerbaijan’s cooperation with the European Union.

The President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Lithuania also exchanged views on the current situation in the international arena.
