The Ministry of Culture has announced a competition for director positions in regional theaters.
“Elchi” was informed about this by the Ministry of Culture.
It is noted that the competition has been announced to fill vacant positions of director and deputy director in state theaters operating in the regions.
The labor functions for the position of director include organizing the theater’s activities in accordance with Azerbaijani legislation; supervising the implementation of creative and administrative management; overseeing the execution of the theater’s strategic goals, plans, and budget; forming repertoire policy; ensuring the targeted and efficient use of funds allocated from the state budget; establishing cooperation with state institutions, local and international organizations, and other partners, and representing the theater; ensuring the expansion of the audience, as well as the application of marketing and communication strategies; and supervising compliance with labor protection, safety, and ethical conduct rules.
For the position of deputy director, the labor functions will include ensuring the implementation of creative and administrative management; ensuring the preparation and execution of the strategic development plan; organizing the preparation and execution of local and international projects and initiatives; preparing proposals for increasing the efficiency of the theater’s activities; and performing other tasks assigned by the director.
Regarding the requirements for candidates, it is noted that a candidate for the position of director must be a citizen of Azerbaijan; have 5 years of work experience in the field of management; have a higher education in specialties included in the culture and arts group (additional education in management is considered an advantage); have excellent command of the Azerbaijani language (knowledge of other foreign languages is considered an advantage); have knowledge in the fields of strategic planning, financial project management, and administrative management; and possess leadership, decision-making, analytical thinking, and team management skills, as well as necessary knowledge in the field of Azerbaijani art, including theater.
A candidate for the position of deputy director must also be a citizen of Azerbaijan; have work experience in a leadership or management field; have a higher education in specialties included in the culture and arts group (additional education in management is considered an advantage); have excellent command of the Azerbaijani language (knowledge of other foreign languages is considered an advantage); have knowledge in the fields of strategic planning, financial project management, and administrative management; have the ability to work in a team; and possess necessary knowledge in the field of Azerbaijani art, including theater, and the ability to work freely in MS Office programs.
